I want to write books like her—not.

I’ve been filling up my plate as much I can these days. I really want my portfolio to be bursting at the seams. I figured that if I can volunteer my writing anywhere that will take me, it’ll give me good practice.

Work is going well, busy as always, but really well. I’ve started working on projects with more great people and it’s loads of fun. Big things also happening this coming week.

My second article with TalentEgg.ca should be up soon. I’ve contacted Campus Intercept—thanks Michelle—and I’m just waiting to hear back on when I can start writing. I’ve also been picked up by LiveDress.com; it’s a fashion site, and I’ll be writing profiles on independent boutiques around downtown Toronto. Most people have asked me why I’d write for an online fashion publication, but it’ll make it a challenge for me to have to write outside of my usual topics. It’s good practice.

Which brings me to my next question: Am I officially a writer? I mean, at work I write for a living. I’ll be writing for three publications soon, and LiveDress is giving me $9 an article. Yeah! $9! It’s better than nothing—I feel so bourgeoisie. Does all this make me a real writer? I don’t really know. I guess when other people start calling me a writer then I’ll feel like one. Whatever.
