Milestones Free Date Night: Recap.

Wednesday, April 29th was Milestones Restaurant’s free date night. I tacked up the promo here on the blog for everyone else. It was a pretty good deal—buy one appetizer, entree or both and your date eats free! They even had a secret promotion going on that they didn’t advertise: $5 off a bottle of wine!

American Apparel 2: Nylon Taffeta Swim Trunks with Lining & Baby Rib Men’s Brief (3-Pack).
Wash your hair you stinking hippie!

Wash your hair you stinking hippie!

Yeah, I’m just going to say that with this week being hectic already, I opted to buy the remainder of whatever clothing I needed online. If you’re my friend on Facebook, then you already know from my status that I purchased underwear online last night. I’ll tell you why:

1. American Apparel had a deal again. It was $36 for a pack of three, “slashed” from $41.

2. I needed a new pair of swim shorts; the ones I purchased for my Halloween costume are white, and poses the problem of being see through when I come out of the water. Nobody wants to see, as one review on the site put it,  my “triangle of no”. Maybe they do?

The shorts were $36 also, and if you remember my costume from halloween (or just look at the picture above), you’ll know what shorts I’m talking about. Again, the shipping was free.

You can’t go wrong with slashed prices and free shipping. Trends and hipster backlash aside, it’s good quality material and I like the colours. I could care less if it was made on this continent.

American Apparel: Fine Jersey Short Sleeve V-Neck (3-Pack).

As the lead up to Cuba begins, I’ve had to do some thrifty shopping in order to update my summer wardrobe. It’s weird that I’ll be wearing shorts and t-shirts for a week, especially at a time when I’m stocked up on long johns and wool socks.

I’m not THAT cheap, but I like a bargain when I can get one. I also don’t really shop at American Apparel. In fact, I’ve probably only bought something from there twice.

Last week I was browsing their online store and found this: a 3-pack of short sleeve v-necks for $51, with free shipping. I figured I might as well. It was the whole $66 marked down to $51 that got me. Okay, and the free shipping. I’ve been telling everyone I know about the deal, at least everyone that I think would wear v-necks.

PACIFIC MALL!!!

Asians suck at driving*, but some of us have that sixth sense of a bargain. Elena and I spent most of our Sunday walking through aisle upon aisle of “legit” goods at Pacific Mall, and then had an awesome Korean lunch. Before chowing down on rice and what have you, I managed to purchase 3 DVDs for $10!

The whole affair was a bit sketch. After looking in about five different stalls, I realized that the shelves weren’t stocked with any Hollywood movies. Finally, a woman told me that we can rent films, but she also had copies of whatever was for rent–for sale. SNEAKY BASTARDS*. The catch was that we had to go in the back and look at the list–in the Adult DVD section. So there we sat; on the floor, huddled over this “rental list”, and surrounded by an El Dorado of porn. Sigh.

As much as I wanted to to buy “Fuck My Mother and Me #5″, we settled on “Mongol“, “Mama Mia!”, and “Step Brothers“. 3 for $10 guys. 3 for $10.

*I am Asian, so shut up. The parking lot was a war zone though.
